I am trying to get in touch with musicians and related people who were playing around the time the Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Oasis went big. Everyone involved in music around the 80’s and 90’s in and around Manchester would suit me, DJs, bookers, singers, club managers..., so I can get myself a picture of mancunians playing music in those days. Please, if you’d like to get in touch with me for a taped phone interview, because you are someone or you know someone who had something to do with music 10 or 20 years ago, e-mail me at

Hi All

Am i right in saying there was a guitar used by the stone roses with a custom paint job? I remember it looking like a child had been left in a room with some paint and a fender guitar, am i right? If so is this guitar available to buy?

Manchester Music Scene questionnaire

Hi there,

I am gathering info on the Music Manchester scene of the last 35 years, the aim is to write a book on it. There is a questionnaire at this address and I invite anyone interested about the subject to go there and complete it. It takes 2-3 minutes only. The main reason for that questionnaire is because I would like my book to be a strongly fan-based document of a love for a band/CD/type of music… etc, with many references to message boards and fans opinions. And Joy Division and New Order and Factory Records have been so documented that, really, that approach is a bit of a waste.
This is the link to the questionnaire

http://fd8.formdesk.com/music/manchester_music
If you are interested in giving a more detailed opinion on the subject -Manchester music scene, Manchester bands, Joy Division.... you can find my e-mail address at this blogspot:
http://littleasturias.blogspot.com/

The blog is a stupidity, but my contact e-mail address is there.

Thanks a lot

Would just like to say that you were absolutely superb at the Magnum last night. Brilliant performance and I couldn’t have met a sounder group of lads. The bass player, can’t remember his name for the life of me, is a legend. Totally down to earth geezer, giving us beers and fags in the backstage bit. Can’t even remember how we got in.

Will defo be seeing you again. Keep up the good work.

Great gig last night! Seemed to take a while for the crowd to get going but I reckon everyone had a great time. Compared to the London gig last year there seemed to be less jumping around but more beer throwing and crowd surfing.
Was pleased they played ‘Here It Comes’. Do TCSR often play more obscure early tracks?
